Category B+E Car and Trailer
If you passed your car test on or after 1 January 1997 you’ll need to pass an additional driving test in order gain a Category B+E entitlement to tow large trailers. This is an area of the driving law that has changed, many people are unaware of its existence. If you passed your car test before 1997, you should already have the license.
In order to obtain a B+E licence, you’ll need to be at least 17 years old and hold a full car (Category ‘B’) licence.
Category C+E LGV Class 1
Now you’re a qualified Cat C LGV (Class 2 HGV) driver who is qualified to drive category C vehicles. But to become a class 1 driver, you must pass one more practical test, which adds category E to your licence. One of the benefits of going straight in to becoming a class 1 driver is that it shows your committed and driven.
Category C HGV Class 2
Whether you already have your HGV C1 or C1+E licence or are starting your additional training from simply holding a car licence, your HGV Cat C is the key to unlocking multiple work opportunities. The HGV Cat C / Class 2 Licence qualification gives you a widest possible range of vehicles you can drive, including trucks, bin lorries and more.
- You must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid car driving licence
 - You will need a provisional licence, take a medical test and the theory exam
 - To keep your licence current, you should also undertake 35 hours Periodic CPC training every 5 years
 
Module 4 Training Driver CPC
The Driver CPC Initial Qualification consists of two parts; Module 2 and Module 4. The Driver CPC Module 4 is the ‘Demonstration test’ or Practical part of the Driver CPC Initial Qualification.
Module 4 focuses on vehicle safety. During the test you are required to demonstrate your knowledge and ability in:
- Ability to load the vehicle with due regard for safety rules and proper vehicle use
 - Security of the vehicle and its contents
 - Ability to prevent criminality and trafficking in illegal immigrants
 - Ability to assess emergency situations Ability to prevent physical risk
